Shelter House’s Foundations’ holiday

Shelter House’s Foundations’ holiday

On July 23, a minibus that had seen better days arrived in Sukoró with 8 children. Some of them had never camped in their life or never swum in the lake Velence.
The 8 children (5 boys and 3 girls) came on vacation with the help of people they had never met, because this holiday was financed through community funding – and of course with the support of the Shelter Home Foundation and its staff.
I was really excited to travel with them and document their whole 4-day vacation as a volunteer photographer.

We spent the holiday in Sukoró which is a little village on the north coast of lake Velence. We all shared adjacent rooms. Their special education teacher also came with the kids, so there was enough time for group sessions too between swimming in the lake, hiking or horse riding.
I made the slideshow for the children, their parents and for the colleagues at the Foundation.
Holidaying is not only good because we never carry our problems in our suitcases, but because it’s always nice to think back. I would like to give them images to remember this holiday, when everyone was super happy.
I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to meet each and every kid and adult.
I’d love every child to be able to go on holiday at least once during the summer break!

The objective os Shelter House Foundation’s Families’ Temporary Homes: within the framework of interim care, they admit – from all over Hungary – indigent families and pregnant single mothers, for whom this service makes it possible to stay together with their children and solve their problems by involving professionals. This way people under their care can aviod their families being torn apart. You can check the Foundation’s website here http://www.menedekhaz.hu/ or follow their work on their Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/menedekhaz.

I would like to say a big thank you for the song to Punnany Massif, who let us use it for the video.
My favorite pictures of the holiday will soon be uploaded to you in a separate album.
